Celebration
has always been central to the people of the Violet Town Parish.
The
whole congregation joins with the community in celebrating the life of
the town.
Celebration
events have included -
a CFA service with blessing of the trucks
- in recognition of the work of volunteers;
shearing
services with blessing of the fleece;
a
50th anniversary thanksgiving for 19 couples in town;
a
reconstruction of former times when the minister rode around the Strathbogie Hills;
Palm
Sunday donkey processions;
sports
services;
progressive
children’s Christmas pageants;
ecumenical
stations of the cross;
pet
services;
and
the celebration and blessing of a 100 year old oak tree planted as
an acorn by a member’s forefather.
Most
of all the church is a place of fun, where people laugh and enjoy
worshipping
a God who shares the joke with them.
